Throughout the summer months River & Cloth will be running a number of textile craft workshops that are open to the public. You can simply turn up on the day and join in. These are:
- Friday 13 August: Block Printing workshop at Donald Pope Library, 10:00 - 12:30pm. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own paisley print and contribute to a collective 'tree of life' wall hanging.
- Wednesday 18 August: Block Printing workshop at Morden Library, 9:30am - 12:30pm
- Saturday 14 August: Block Printing workshop, as part of AbbeyFest. Come and find us in the market area of Merton Abbey Mills between 11am and 4pm.
- Friday 17 September: Local History Talk, given by William Morris expert, Brian Daubney as part of our exhibition programme, Merton Abbey Mills, 2:30 - 4:00pm
- Saturday 18 September: Drop-in Hand Embroidery workshop, led by Madeline Herbert as part of our exhibition programme, Merton Abbey Mills, 2:00 - 4:00pm
- Sunday 19 September: Drop-in Eco-dyeing workshop, led by Viv Philpot as part of our exhibition programme, Merton Abbey Mills, 2:00pm - 4:00pm
- Thursday 23 September: Drop-in Block Printing workshop as part of our exhibition programme. This one is going to be special. As well as being the last workshop session of our programme, Mary Hart, Block Printer at Wandle Industrial Museum will be teaching the traditional method, while alongide her, Sandrine Case will teach a more contemporary method of block printing. Venue: Mitcham Library, 9:30am - 12:00pm
