We are working with teachers and teaching assistants from 10 different schools based in the east of Merton. These teachers will be trained in a variety of techniques and processes including dyeing, stitch and printing over the next 18 months. They will be taught creative skills and given resources, materials, workshop plans and fact sheets to enable them to devise and deliver their own textile workshops in the classroom, and to pass on this new knowledge in a cascade fashion. Throughout the whole of this process teachers will be supported and guided by each of the lead artists, the River & Cloth project manager and outreach worker.
Teachers at schools based outside the east of Merton are very welcome to download workshop plans, fact sheets etc. from the Resources section.
